About Newton Middle School

Newton Middle School is located in the heart of Hacienda Heights. It is one of the six middle schools in the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District. The school holds grades 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and operates on a traditional school calendar. The school serves over 600 students with the demographics breakdown being: 73% Hispanic or Latino, 16% Asian, 9% Caucasian, 1.1% African American, and 0.5% American Indian, 0.3% Filipino, and 0.16% Pacific Islander. We are a school wide Title I, and our API has shown consistent growth. Newton Middle School offers an array of rigorous programs both during the day as well as, after school programs. With the class day, Newton provides programs such as Yearbook, Band, STEM, ASB, Art and foreign languages. After school programs includes: Sports, Science Olympiad, Computer, Programming Club, and Builders' Club. Newton Middle School offers all students the opportunity to thrive within the school community.

Newton Middle School is committed to raising the level of achievement and developing students who are responsible, educated young adults. We are also committed to deliver, promote and extend the state standards in all subject areas in order to continue the development of our students. We have the passion for promoting not only academics, but the need for creativity through fine arts, critical thinking in all areas and positive self-esteem through our character education and extra curricular activities. We also encourage and promote use of technology resources in order for our students to reach the world around them. We are committed to prepare all students for the academic, social-emotional, and intellectual rigors of high school and college.

Newton Middle School staff is comprised of a team of highly educated and caring professional leaders who have the passion and compassion to empower students to make positive decisions and build trust in all. We are all committed to developing the "whole" student and training tomorrow's leaders. We dedicated ourselves to promote positive interactions in order for students to adapt to our diverse school population and changing society.
